Horse Tours in North Iceland

We are Anna and Árni, a young couple living on the farm with our two girls, born in January 2018 and April 2020.
Anna's grew up on the farm and spent her childhood years riding horses in the area. She later went to the Agricultural University of Iceland and then to the University at Hólar for Equine Studies. She has both worked training horses and as a guide for a horse rental.
Árni was introduced to horses and the farm life after meeting Anna and moved to the farm in 2016.

Eyjardalsá is located Bárðardalur in the north part of iceland. It is conveniently located right in the middle between Akureyri, Húsavík and Lake Mývatn, and the farm is just 8km from the main road (Route 1). More detailed location can be found here

People have been living at Eyjardalsá for centuries and the farm is mentioned in chapters 64-67 in "Grettis Saga" which is believed to have happened around the year 1000. Our family has been living on the farm since 1971 but we took over the farm in the beginning of the year 2017.

At the farm we have 20 horses, 170 sheep, 9 chicken, 2 dogs and a cat. We have both been working outside of the farm but hope that in the future the farm can support the whole family.

Horse rental was started in spring 2018, because Anna wanted to be able to work near our daughter and her former bosses from Saltvík made that possible.
